Pre-Occupy Symposium

Friday, April 13, 2012
1:30 pm Curtin 175

The Pre-Occupy symposium will address how earlier occupations and protests in California and Wisconsin set the stage for current occupations across the globe. The Center for 21st Century Studies contends that this acted as forms of pre-acceleration or incipient movement without which Occupy Wall Street may have never happened.

Speakers include:

George Ciccariello-Maher (Drexel): "From Oscar Grant to Occupy: The Long Arc of Rebellion in Oakland"

Joshua Clover (UC-Davis): "The Coming Occupation"

Dan S. Wang (Columbia College) "Zuccotti Sans Rotunda, or The Uneven Spaces of Occupation"

There will also be a poetry reading by Joshua Clover
